After almost 4 months of no meat, taddaaaa, I ate tito's world famous steak. I must admit that the taste is yummy but the texture is rough probably cause I got used to eating fish and chicken which glides through my tongue. I still won't eat meat after eating steak here, I would refer to this as cheat day :)
I was caught off guard when I saw the juicy steak in front of me though a part of me expected it already, the other part of me pushes me to opt for fish still which I absolutely love. My trip would probably not be complete and as enjoyable if I didn't try to eat meat. No regrets!

Plane Ride
Greetings! I'm here in San Diego California now staying with my awesome uncle. So far, I'm really enjoying my vacay with my sister. It's gonna be tough cause were gonna travel to different states via plane. I hate plane rides even if the movies are okay! They freaking bore me to death specially looooooooong plane rides like this one..from the Philippines, it took us 3 something to Korea and 9 to Los Angeles..imagine that! The worst part is that they kept feeding us, I mean, I paid for the food and their service is amazeballs but it's hard to eat and digest when your just seated there for Godknowswhen, I tried doing mini exercises but they're still meh! Plus I took naps which weren't comfy, not at all. Oh not that, both my seatmates were as annoying as fuck! Geez. Sorry if I keep on complaining, but, that seriously killed my body..But I'm enjoying my stay here so screw that. Lesson: it pays to be seated in business class :) Should def save up for Euro trip :)
I will try to update this if wifi is available..I'm using my iPhone and iPod for net surfing and the like. It would probably be nicer to blog using an iPad so I'll try blogging there too..
See you later alligator!

Ukay-Ukay
Ukay-Ukay not only offers a wide variety of clothes of different brands, but also from different eras.
Esguerra, 2010
Aww Ms. Geolette, I miss you big time! You are such an awesome OJT Boss
It`s been a while since I`ve ransacked shops, piles, and racks of secondhand clothing which is popularly known here in the Philippines as Ukay-Ukay [I am damn proud that I buy clothes from Ukay-Ukay, just cause, haha]. I`m too lazy to define it cause it reminds me so much of my college thesis "Ukay-Ukay in the City", which is a documentary btw.
I used to dislike Ukay-Ukay or the thought of buying secondhand clothing from absolute strangers because the person who previously wore it might have had a disease of some sort or worse, came from a dead person. But come college, a close friend of mine introduced me to the whole Ukay-Ukay craze and I was fascinated with what Ukay-Ukay stores offer that it made me give it the benefit of the doubt. From then on, I continued to shop at Ukay-Ukay. It was a bit awkward at first cause I got super addicted to it, then I met Stephanie who was, like me and Bea, a fan of Ukay-Ukay shopping; and so the cash burning continued.
I`ve purchased so much from Ukay-Ukay and saved a lot of money from shopping there. I`ve also found amazing brands such as H&M and Cotton On from different Ukay stores. Baguio Ukay will forever be the best Ukay-Ukay haven for Ukay shoppers like me. But mind you, I do not shop in Ukay cause of brand hunting [truth be told and I`m not bragging, but I can afford branded items naman, so most def not my reason], it`s actually fun to just rummage through the racks and find unique clothes, cause honestly, it`s such a hassle to see people wear the same clothing as you, but oh well, life goes on.
Maybe one day, I shall invite all my Ukay friends again and just go gaga over secondhand clothes. I will do a follow-up post on Ukay-Ukay tips. The documentary file size is just tooooo big for me to upload here or wherever.
Try it, don`t be scared, I guarantee you that you won`t be disappointed.
P.S.
Don`t forget to wash it before you wear it :p

Packing
I`ve always had a knack for travelling, both local and abroad. But what I dislike most about it is the packing part.
Admittedly, I`m not a wise packer, nor do I enjoy it. I used to just pick all the clothes and let my mom do the work. My mom loves to fold and fix clothes on my luggage everytime I travel. It is pretty much beneficial for both of us; beneficial for me cause I just sit there and watch her pack [lazy like that] and for her, cause she LOVES to put all her "PASALUBONGS" on the excess space / canals of my bag, wise woman eh.
Anyway, were just days away from THE BIG SUMMER TRIP and I still haven`t figured out what I should bring. I`ll most definitely bring half a month`s worth of clothes which I have thoroughly sorted but I`m still organizing things so my bag`s still a big mountain of junk. Sister told me that that volume is enough since were washing our clothes there. I`m ashamed to say that I don`t know how to wash my clothes [undies not included]. I`ll probably ask my sister to help me wash my clothes [my sister is awesum].
I tried to be practical and all and made a list of tips that will be helpful for me and my packing dilemma.
TIPS AND TRICKS:
1. List down all the important things that you need. What I do is I sort them out in batches for easy reference.
For example,
Batch A - Clothes
Batch B - Make-up and Toiletries
Batch C - Gadgets
Batch D - Money and Documents [IMPORTANT]
2. Travel Light - Bring only what you will wear and what you need especially if the trip is for leisure since I am pretty sure that Shopping is a part of the itinerary.
3. Airtight Bags / Vacuum Bags / Ziploc Bags are super useful and a huge space saver. Use Ziploc Bags for underwear and bathing suit for space saving. Use it for Shirts and Camisoles again for space saving. Ziploc Bags remove air and compress whatever it is that you would put in it [an instant space saving tip which I learned from my mom]. You would also want to put your make-up or toiletries if you don`t have a toiletry bag.
4. Clothing Pieces and Footwear should be comfy specially for long walks and trips. At least for me.
5. Distribute money and cards to different areas of your bag [this i got from dad]. If you lose some, at least you still have spare.
I think those are the tips that I`ve learned.
